Thanks to you and your fellow duelists, Chairman Platinum and his vile sludge factory are all but defeated! When the life bar finally falls, get ready to access Elon Musk's SolarWorld factory, to be contructed on the ruins of Ebilcorp's sluge machine. Within, you'll find many awesome gadgets, including and exciting new power. What power you ask? How about the power of flight!
The new Flight Module equips in your vehicle slot just like bikes and hovercraft. The module is activated by typing /fly to takeoff and again to land.
This new flight ability looks great when combined with the new Musk Husk Armor, a mass-production version of Elon Musk's power suit.
This elegant, yet efficient design is able to adapt to any class or gender. If you don't have the stomach for air travel, you can always try a more grounded method: the Model L hovercar!
This new vehicle allows the driver to travel in luxury and privacy while preserving the environment!
The SolarWorld factory will also house two new cores for your dueling pleasure!
Deliver a solid, solar-powered punch that absorbs your opponent's energy with this new active armor core! The energy absorbtion is based on your armor's Defense and Resistance values.
Always have a backup...especially when your life is on the line! This armor core improves the effectiveness of Field Medic when you're in critical condition (less than 20% HP).
While you're in the Wasteland, you might want to visit Snork in his subterranean home beneath the Minetower to check out some of his awesome returning seasonal rares!
Also, be sure to check out the Event-based Harvest missions and collect the Hallowarrior achievement! There's more holiday fun to be had next week -- we just need to boot that pesky Chairman off the planet for good!

Meet Mr. Musk
Ebilcorp is back with a vengeance as Chairman Platinum is attempting to suck Delta V dry of all its precious resources. Fortunately, a more benevolent businessman, Elon Musk, has arrived on Delta V and he's ready to help. Complete Musk's missions to defeat the Chairman and dismantle his life-sucking factory. To help you on your journey, Musk is selling 4 new passive cores to give your stats a much-needed boost!
Visit Musk in the middle of Fortune City for a complete list of your tasks. If you complete them all, you'll be rewarded with material treasures, but you can also gain a wealth of knowledge about this real-life innovator.
In addition to a full character bio, you can also watch intensely cool videos. You haven't seen anything until you you've seen machines turn 20,000 lb spools of metal into working vehicles. You can see firsthand how Musk is bringing the technology of the future to the present!
Are they assembing the next generation of powered armors? Only one way to find out!
Challenge the Chairman!
You thought Chairman Platinum would learn his lesson after the beating Delta V's dilligent duelists gave him and his cronies last year, but I guess if at first you don't succeed...
...build a giant, resource-sucking factory on your enemy's homeworld? Classic Chairman!
The only way to shut down his Ebil Factory of Doom in the Wasteland is to defeat the Chairman, but he's too tough to take on in a 1v1 duel. Fortunately, Musk has volunteered to help you and your fellow duelists crush the Chairman and send him packing. However, you'll need to gather a few supplies for Mr. Musk to help him devise the technology necessary for blasting the sinister CEO.
The Factory's strength is measured by a War Bar at the top of your screen. By defeating the Chairman, you can help take the bar down and bring Delta V one step closer to ridding itsself from Chairman Platinum for good! According to Musk, he can re-engineer the factory to be a source of renewable, clean energy. There may also be some other amazing prizes inside once the Ebilcorp Factory's defense are eliminated.
If you defeat him, you'll be rewarded with an achievement. Why fight him again, you may ask? Good question!
We've add boss defeat tracking to all "boss" achievents. That means every time you bring the pain to Titan, Nightwraith, Caden, or any other NPC that offers an achievement, your achievement will track the number of times you were victorious! Unfortunately, this change is not retroactive so if you want to rack up the wins on the other boss NPCs, you'll have some work to do!
Over the course of Elon Musk's epic mission chain, you'll have the opportunity to try a new mission type: scavenger hunt!
NPCs can now direct you to search a specific region of the world to find a mission item. Look carefully -- some items may not be as easy to find as others!
Musk has come to Delta V packing some pretty amazing technology -- including these 4 passive cores that buff the stats Strength, Technology, Dexterity, and Support!
If you want an extra edge over your opponents, these cores will provide a great way of doing so!
This release is packed to the brim with content, but we're not done yet! Once the Chairman's factory falls, the real party can begin!

*There will be no release today as we prepare for a MEGA RELEASE next week. Thank you for your patience!
It's been nearly a year since Chairman Platinum last showed his face on Delta V -- the populace quickly gave him a proper EpicDuel beat-down and put an end to his plans for a hostile takeover. If there's one thing the Chairman is good at (aside from robbing grannies and punting kittens) it's holding a grudge. After a year of planning and healing, he's ready to end the fued -- along with all the inhabitants of Delta V.
Rather than bringing an army, the Chairman is taking a more subtle approach -- forcibly extracting all the Varium from Delta V to cause the entire planet to collapse! The Ebilcorp extraction device is protected by a nearly impervious shield and in order to breach it, you'll need to face the Chairman himself!
This time, there will be no deals, no negotiations. The Chairman wants to annihilate those who wronged him and make a tidy profit while doing it. If only there were someone who could help us stop him!
To defeat this otherworldy threat, Delta V will need an otherworldy benefactor in the form of Elon Musk, engineering mastermind and visionary businessman (basically the closest the real-world has to Tony Stark). While testing his new Ultraloop interstellar transportation device on a routine visit to a Martian colony, Musk overshot his target and landed on Delta V.
Although his ship was not damaged, he'll need some time to adjust his calculations. Since he's always up for a challenge calling for ingenuity, he's prepared to offer the citizens of Delta V his expertise in expelling the Ebilcorp threat and reversing Platinum's damage, offering Delta V a means of generating efficient renewable energy in the process!
This task will not be easy, however, as Musk is lightyears away from his fabrication workshop. You'll need to scour Delta V to find the parts necessary to allow this benevolent genius to invent a permanent solution to your Platinum problem.
As stated above, Musk will need your help securing various items from across Delta V to devise a means for you to defeat Platinum. Also, he's not letting you go it alone -- complete his mission chain and he'll join you in a battle of the business titans as you take on Platinum in an epic 2v1 duel!
Complete the mission chain by defeating Chairman Platinum and you'll receive a new achievement!
Chairman's Ebilcorp extractor is bad news, but Musk has plans to reengineer it to be a source of limitless energy! As an added bonus, the power plant will be able to produce advanced cores capable to augmenting basic stats!
Musk sees you admiring his armor -- don't worry, he brought extras! Power up with the Musk Husk and send Chairman Platinum packing!
Since next week will be a MEGA release, there are bound to be aspects that we forget to mention here. Stay tuned on Twitter and the Design Notes for the latest and greatest updates!

2012 Year In Review
Hi there EpicDuelists. With the year 2012 behind us, and new possibilities in front of us, I've written a brief overview of the story so far in EpicDuel!
After years of an uneasy truce between the Legion's presence in Frysteland- the cold, mountainous region to the north of Delta V's main continent -- and the Delta V native Krampus, dictatrix Alydriah Descarl made a move to conquer those that remained relatively free from the Administration's control. Led by the formidable Commander Edgar Boothe, the Legion soldiers and corrupted Yetis fought aggressively against the primitive Krampus tribe. The Krampus, led by the Shaman Aldhagrimm the Erudite and King Alaric (the Technologically Impaired), the Krampus allied themselves with Exile forces but were ultimately defeated.
In the aftermath, Alydriah set herself up as Queen over Frysteland and began the work of corrupting the local wildlife, including Ylwa the Demon Rider's personal mount Maia the Frost Demon. Boothe, torn between his loyalty to the Legion and love for his heritage saved some of the Krampus from execution, including King Alaric and Boothe's grandmother Aldhagrimm. The War coincided with Hank and his wife Valestra's Juloffenblotten festivities, ruining their winter holiday.
With Alydriah distracted in Frysteland, a group of Legion loyalists who felt that Descarl had ultimately betrayed Baelius and the principles of the Legion made their first move against the despot. The Legion loyalists formed an alliance with the Exile Leader, whose base is contained within the ruins of Old Fortune City. The 12th District Administrator John Williamson III orchestrated a plot to bomb Alydriah's spire before she returned to the mainland. Williamson's son Lysander Cox (the Negawraith) disguised himself as the assassin Nightwraith and offered his services to Alydriah's brother, Administrator 11, while the Resistance -- represented by Habuki and Shadow Guard Mike -- planted bombs in the Spire. However, the plot was discovered, and Administrator 12 took full responsibility, sacrificing himself for his men and for Order. Despite his attempt to kill his executioner Administrator 11, the District 12 offices and the Administrator himself were reduced to ashes. Inspired by his father's death, the Negawraith took over both the 12th district administrative duties and the helm of the Legion Resistance.
The Bionic Battalion Saga introduced a band of superintelligent sentient rabbits -- Brachylagus, Capensis, Myxoma, Lepus, and Mr. Cottontail, who built a set of rabbit battlesuits to fight and survive outside of the Biological Preserve. The rabbits discovered that they were descended from colonists from the planet Orychtolagus and devised a plan to escape Delta V. The Bunny Escape Pod was destroyed by a mysterious force, but Brachylagus and Capensis survived the attack. Meanwhile, Lepus attempted to make friends with the fearsome Electro Hazard and was rescued by Myxoma who “reprogrammed” the creature with her poisoned hair dye. Lepus discovered the Archives under the BioDome, which serve as a safe haven for the Archivists. The Archivists belong to an Order dedicated to preserving and maintaining Delta V's history, but they have since mostly died out leaving only Xraal and his siblings Tamaril, Sekk, and Navarro.
This was EpicDuel's biggest (and darkest) storyline to date. After years of searching, John “The Lawman” St. Alban was able to enter the mysterious Delta Vault, but not without opposition. John and his allies had to face off against not only the Legion forces led by Administrator 7, Silas Auer, but also the subterranean insectoid techno-organic creatures known as Mechachillids. But this story started 20 years before the events of EpicDuel, and each of Auer's allies had their reasons to hate St. Alban. John's obsession with the contents of the Delta Vault led him to betray his partner in the Galactic Marshalls -- a young Silas Auer -- by sending the younger man's former lover Commander Valestra Acker (Hitchens) into the hands of Delta V's enemies. Valestra lost her arm during her escape, and when he confronted John about it, John shot off Silas's face. Along with Silas and Valestra, John fought against his daughter Ella and the man he blamed for seducing and corrupting her, the Nightwraith. But, in the end the Exiles and John's allies -- Ulysses and Galatea and John's younger daughter Selina -- were the first to infiltrate the Delta Vault and uncover its horrific content: by Baelius's order, Ulysses had developed a method of using a corpse to power a cyborg soldier (his wife Galatea was, in fact, one of these soldiers after having died in the Vault). He was sentenced to death, but survived his execution, losing his memory. Silas was not ready to accept his defeat, but John proved once again that he was not above underhanded tactics, threatening the child Silas had fathered with Valestra- Naomi. Silas surrendered himself to save his daughter.
In EpicDuel's crossover with MechQuest, Delta V found itself facing the greatest threat it had so far encountered. Deep in the Barrens, a mysterious creature called Dravax the Harbinger warned of an apocalyptic fate that would befall Delta V unless they surrendered the woman named Char. This was Charfade, the last survivor from the Mer'a homeworld. Dravax's Master is one familiar to players of MechQuest: a huge planet-devouring being known as the Dragonoid. Due to overwhelming support, the Citizens of Delta V banded together to save Charfade from the Dragonoid! The Slayer teamed up with players to defeat Dravax herself and gain access to Mirv's defense turret, but this only injured the Dragonoid. Though he doesn't advertise it, Mirv is a technical genius, and wrote a program that had to be directly implanted into the Dragonoid's brain. Players allied with Charfade to battle the Dragonoid Brain, replacing the coordinates of Delta V with those of the Slayer's plague-destroyed homeworld Delta IV. The Dragonoid consumed Delta IV (hopefully it was uninhabited) and Dravax was marooned on Delta V.
During Delta V's War for Independence, when Baelius turned on his backers to declare his venture a sovereign nation, there was only one investor that allied himself with Baelius -- the unscrupulous Chairman Platinum. The Chairman returned to Delta V to check up on his investment, and was unhappy with the way Alydriah was running things. To protect Delta V and her Citizens from the Chairman and his Corporate Ninjas, Citizens found themselves depending on an unlikely champion. In her first EpicDuel appearance, lead singer, guitarist, frog aficionado and frontwoman of One-Eyed Doll Kimberly Freeman used the citizenry of Delta V as her own personal Meat Shields as she defeated the silver-tongued Chairman Platinum. Seeing that death would be too great a mercy for the Chairman, Alydriah decreed that he should remain on Delta V.
With 2013 ahead of us, there are so many possibilities open for EpicDuel's story line. Will the Dragonoid realize it ate the wrong planet? What's on the other planets in the Delta system? Are there untouched areas of Delta V? When will we see the other Fortune City districts? And what about the characters? Will Hank and Valestra's marriage survive the constant obstacles thrown at them? Will the St. Alban family ever be repaired? When do we meet Brunson's Mama? Will Shadow Guard Mike ever be allowed to just kick up his feet and watch some television? Will we incorporate more elements form the Lore-verse into EpicDuel or should we stay far, far away? What would YOU like to see in the coming year's storylines?
Thank you all for being with us and your continued patience as we prepare to launch EpicDuel Omega and the latest adventures in Frysteland! I'm so honored to be creating this world for and with all of you, and working with the best team ever! I don't think I could write like this for anyone but them.

What Ebil Lurks?
The EbilCorp war is nearly over, and you have fought valorously against Chairman Platinum and his corporate ninjas in all of AE's games. Yay! EbilCorp was no match for our dedicated players. Congratulations! When the war bar reaches 100%, you can just click the “Claim Prize” button to claim your prize! What is your prize? IT IS A MYSTERY!
By popular request, Kimberly will by offering her One-Eyed Axes in energy and physical flavors as limited quantity item!
The Chairman may be down, but he's certainly not out. Alydriah has personally seen to it that his personal transportation off of Delta V is, shall we say, unavailable, and it would amuse her greatly if you and Kimberly would keep bashing him! You will be able to continue challenging Chairman Platinum for cheevos and lulz.
Being the opportunist that he is, the Chairman will be looking to enlist the help of Delta V's citizens to regain his strength and rebuild his forces. There will be credits and tokens in it for you, but is it worth making a deal with the devil?
Nightwraith and Disturbed are still working on the Player Suggestion Shop, so keep submitting! As Char said during the Livestream, if you're looking to get art in the shop, think 2 holidays ahead!
Speaking of holidays and suggestions, the Head/Hairstyle design contest is still going on, so head on over to the AEF to check out the rules and competition! You have until 11:59PM EST on October 26 so hop to it!
On the Horizon
We mentioned on the Livestream that we're going to be doing some pretty exciting back-end stuff over the next couple months (which means that sometimes content will be lacking, but code will be abundant!) while we prepare to enter into a new development phase!
We're planning on reevaluating and retooling the early-game experience, with tutorials and such to initiate new players into an informative and engaging early game that is up to par with the latest content. EpicDuel has become a very complex game and new players can be easily discourage by the steep learning curve. We've already started outlining/writing the tutorial system.
Rabble and Titan are going to be tearing down the battle engine and retooling it. The ultimate goal is for even those of us on the creative team could create a new skill in the database! Weapons stats, skills, and enhancements will be completely retooled for greater flexibility, like we'd intended originally.
We'll also be "tightening up the graphics," as they say, in our ever present quest to battle framerate slowdowns and bring the older visuals up to par with the latest content.
And certainly not last or least, we'll be able to build at least one major feature (like, say, Tournaments) that are frequently requested by players!
Stay tuned for more developments as we finalize me details!
Said the Spider to the Butterfly...
I'm sure you all missed the insect facts! What, you didn't? Well, I want to talk about butterflies and will not be silenced! There are several examples of insects that mimic their predators in an attempt to avoid being omnomnomed. In the case of tephrid flies in the genus Zonosemata and metalmark moths in the genus Brenthia, markings on their wings and wing-flapping behavior looks very similar to the behaviors of jumping spiders. In laboratory tests, both of these creatures were eaten quickly by nonspider predators, but avoided by jumping spiders. In the case of the butterflies, jumping spiders even returned the displays, indicating that this sort of mimicry is effective against spider predators. Whether they win Halloween costume contests among the arthropods is still a matter of debate.

Begun, The EbilWar Has
This is what happens when you trust executives...or at least allow them to remain on your home planet! The nefarious Chairman Platinum has assembled an army of Corporate Ninjas and freshly recruited Ebil Hazards to take Delta V by force!
Fortunately for us, the Chairman's enemies are numerous and powerful. One such ally is the newly arrived Kimberly, Space Warrior and professional face-melting guitarist of One-Eyed Doll!
Visit Kimberly in Fortune City, who's happily wading through the Chairman's henchgoons, to receive your assignments. Delta V has scarcely seen a threat like this and Kimberly knows exactly how to take the Chairman down!
However, before we can take the fight to the Chairman, we need to clear out some of his goons! Scattered throughout Fortune City and Central Station are EbilCorp minions. Challenge these minions to fill the War Bar and fire EbilCorp for good! What is it? You'll find out after you've expelled EbilCorp from Delta V! Wouldn't want the Chairman to steal it from you!
Once the bar is full, everyone who participated in the War will receive a rare prize! Defeating More challenging enemies will award you more points, and give you a better chance of gaining these:
They're barely worth the paper they're printed on, but they ARE printed on very expensive paper. Sell them back to Delta V merchants for bonus credits!
This is it! No going back! Delta V and all of Artix Entertainment is counting on you to defeat EbilCorp!
In lighter news, you can stop by any VendBot to pick up a new, free Achievement! This shiny little badge will show that you were present for this milestone! After the event, it will be gone forever (or until time loops around and we have another 10 year anniversary, but that could be awhile), and those who own it will receive a hefty Rating Point bonus! Thanks again for letting us make awesome games for you and a pre-emptive thanks for helping us kick the Chairman's butt back into space!
I understand there is also another achievement lurking around. What is its purpose? It is a mystery!
Join us this Sunday at 10AM EDT for a new EpicDuel Artists Livestream! For those unfamiliar with the streams, we have the Dev team and several mods join us for a live Q and A while Charfade or I draw something. You can check out some of the previous streams to see what you've been missing and get a feel for what they're like. If you do join us, please be courteous as we will ban anyone for any misconduct during the stream. If you miss out, the stream will be recorded for later viewing.
Disturbed and I are still busy bringing your suggestions to life! If you haven't posted yet, there's still time to get noticed! Remember to post your suggestions in the official EpicDuel items suggestion thread!
October 03, 2012
The Chairman has been on Delta V for nearly a week and already he grows impatient with his hosts. His diabolical offerings have kept the citizens from expelling him thus far, but Baelius is still a no-show. Shuttles are now approaching with a hoards of EbilCorp goons, and the Chairman's promises of wealth and power have swayed some locals to his cause.
Events are escalating quickly as local authorities seem unable to make a move against the EbilCorp incursion. Will Delta V be under new management permanently? What are the Chairman's true intentions? Who taught the Bio Hazard how to tie a tie? All will be revealed soon!
'Tis the season to unveil new styles -- 18 to be precise (3 for each base class and gender). These styles will have an EbilCorp flavor to them. Visit any style change bot around Delta V to check out these sinister new styles.
Rabblefroth has been hard at work expanding the functionality of our style purchasing system. After this release, unlocking a single style will unlock all similar styles across all classes (i.e. wolf style, bio hazard, dragon slayer). We will apply this retroactively to those who have already purchased styles, so you should notice way more styles unlocked when you change classes!
To further satisfy your hunger for style, we will be offering a new bonus package that includes a jumbo pack of styles! This promotion will includes new EbilCorp styles. This does not mean that we will be removing any current promotions, just that we will be adding a new one.
If you play as a Male Mage or Hunter, you may have noticed that you have fewer basic styles than Mercenaries. Maybe you haven't. In any case, we're correcting that oversight by adding 1 new default style to Mages and 2 new default styles for Hunters. Huzzah!
Existing styles not your...uh...style? Remember, we're hosting a hairstyle design contest in the forums RIGHT NOW! Submit your creations for a chance to win ALL THE STYLES available in game at the time of contest's end as well as seeing your own design used in game! You have until the 26 of October, so sharpen those pencils and do your best!
In case you missed it last week, the seasonal Harvest Festival home items are now available for purchase. You will also have the opportunity to acquire the beautiful winning posters created for our account safety awareness art contest! Hang them proudly in your homes to show that you know how to keep your account secure, and encourage others to do the same!
The weapons are not ready for this week, but we are currently culling the forums for the best item suggestions for vectorization. I would like to remind all of those participating that plagarism will not be tolerated. Furthermore, a comment from a mod or dev like "nice sword" should not be taken as a guarantee that the suggestion will be used. Art posted on Twitter and FB will not be considered unless it is posted in the forums as well.
Also, be sure to follow our assistant artist, Disturbed's, Twitter for his progress as he vectorizes the best suggestions!
Suggestion shops are always a breath of fresh air into the game's expansive inventory and I wish we could do them more frequently. That said, I have a feeling this shop will be the best one yet! Thank you and good luck!
September 25, 2012
This week, after surviving a Dragonoid attack, Delta V will be invaded by another threat. However, rather than being motivated an instinctive desire to destroy, this evil is motivated by money and power. This evil is...
Chairman Platinum of EbilCorp is leading an army of corporate ninjas and mercenaries to Fortune City to claim the entire planet in the name of his corrupt enterprise. The Chairman is confident, but he's no fool -- he knows that he'll need to offer something good to win over the battle-hardened populace.
Chairman Platinum believes you must dress for success, whether it's in business or intergalactic domination. For that reason, EbilCorp scientists have created a specially-designed power suit, engineered to withstand superhuman amounts of punishment, and has the ability to mutate along with its wearer's class. It also allows the wearer to unleash a devastating special attack.
Chairman's Fury is a one-time use, selectable skill that can be used at any time in battle to unleash a powerful unblockable uppercut attack that steals 25% of your opponent's rage for yourself. It can be used once per battle.
This item will be available as a 5-Key Varium package as soon as we release on Wednesday September 26th. A level 25 version will also be available as a 3-Key package. Both will be available in-game.
Just when you thought EpicDuel couldn't fit any more evil...
A wild Dage appears! That's right, Dage the Evil has taken up residence on Delta V and he will come offering new LQS items of his own twisted creation. This new color custom bike, Dage's Blood Rider, is just a taste of the twisted treastures Dage is bringing to EpicDuel!
Find Dage in the Minetower to access his shop of limited quantity items! He's packing some serious heat with the Skull Boomstick and Haunted Boomstick, two shotguns with the amazing Spreadfire ability which allows you to attack 2 targets at once! Grab these items before they're gone!
Bye-Bye Infernal Weapons
Due to the addition of Platinum's Pride promotional armor, we will be removing the Infernal Interdictor and Pyro Fly packages from the Varium shop and all the other Infernal and Mechachillid items from the in-game merchants. The Infernal Interdictor and the Pyro Fly will also be sellable. The key exceptions are the Infernal Android and the Mecha Cruiser, which are permanent items.
