	May 27, 2022 The Hunters' Festival Ends Today we end the latest EpicDuel Tournament, The Hunters' Festival, and honor the champions with a great bounty of prizes, including rare armors, weapons, and cores! Congratulations to all 241 players who participated and enjoy your hard-fought loot! Special thanks go out to Acatriel and Bido who helped craft such an enormous pool of amazing prizes! Attached to these new prizes are new cores. Because we didn't want to offer overpowered cores that people who did not participate in the tournament would never be able to earn, some of these cores are only aesthetically different from existing cores. Apocryphal Demigod's Wrath: At low HP, morph into a beast and deal 110% damage with 50% lifesteal. Apocryphal Demigod's Roar: Unleash a terrifying roar dealing 85% damage, lowering Rage by 50%. Apocryphal Champion's Wrath: At low health, mutate into a beast and deal 110% damage with 50% lifesteal. Apocryphal Champion's Roar: Unleash a terrifying roar dealing 85% damage, lowering Rage by 50%. Hunters' Retribution: Apply a curse, use auxiliary to detonate, adding 10% damage per turn the target was hit. Hunters' Eradication: Remove target's armor (1 turn), sidearm (2 turns), and auxiliary (3 turns). Hunters' Evocation: Summon void tentacles to snare prey, immobilizing them. Hunters' Judgement: Final judgement, dealing primary damage plus 12% of target's max Health (Max 500). Apocryphal Demigod Rift: Open a bloody rift, dealing Sidearm dmg plus 10% of target's max Health (Max 400). Apocryphal Champion Rift Open a bloody rift, dealing Sidearm dmg plus 10% of target's max Health (Max 400). This tournament was also a significant learning experience. There are aspects of tournaments that will likely change in the future. For one, a more focused tournament, limited to a single battle mode over a shorter duration would be easier to moderate and result in less player fatigue. Another feature we have been considering to increase the excitement of tournaments in the future is a Spectator mode. Still in the planning phases, allowing players to watch any active battle would provide lots of entertainment for players who don't have time to grind winds for most of the day but still wish to cheer on their friends! There is still a wealth of possibilities on the horizon to make tournaments an amazingly rewarding experience for all! New Hairstyles: In addition to a wealth of new combat items, this update introduces 8 new Hunter-inspired styles available now from the style-change shop! Tags: Nightwraith

	May 18, 2022 May Madness Update In anticipation of the upcoming Tournament, we're pleased to release a bounty of new features and improvements to EpicDuel! New Features New Battle option "Brace" to skip a turn for a small buff to block, deflection, and damage reduction. Save username and password on login. Daily login reward. Receive a gift in your mail each day you login. Gift is selected randomly among Arcade Tokens, home items, and various Credit amounts. Track influence from battle during war cooldown with new achievement. Track daily missions completed with new achievement. View NPC stats in battle. Since NPC's don't abide by normal class skill trees, the configuration on their skills page might be odd. Pause NPC battles. This is not currently enabled in 2v1 bosses, but functionality is in progress for a future update. Increased level gap in Simulation mode to ease difficulty for struggling players. Missions can reward XP. Missions can support multiple reward types for the same mission. Bank view shows an item's equipped cores. Shop search can search a weapon's equipped core names. Stacking cores. Cores that are replaced will have resale value set to 0. Duplicate cores purchased with Varium or Credits will form different stacks based on currency used to purchase. To implement this change, currently held cores will have their resale values set to 0. New and improved animations. New Achievements Daily Mission Achiever Tier 1 - 11: Awarded for completing individual daily missions. Not dependent on completing whole mission chains. Grunt - Eternal Legend: Earn influence from battles during war cooldown. Amount is slightly randomized and adjusted based on battle type. Balance Changes Cyber Hunter Adaptive Armor replaced with Nanotech Shield (passive) Cores Frost Shards: 120 Energy Infernal Fortitude (Primary): 100 Energy Infernal Surge: +35% support instead of 35 points. 	May 13, 2022 Spider's Lab: Spring Edition Team EpicDuel has been hard at work creating content for the new Hunters' Festival Tournament, crafting custom prizes for the last of the Gifting winners, and developing brand new features and improvements to refresh EpicDuel just in time for Summer. Spider worked his magic on a raft of frequently-requested features to vastly improve the EpicDuel experience. Since some of these features are a bit complex, we're allowing a bit of additional time to make sure they're rock-solid. These features should arrive in an update early next week after necessary review and polish. At the conclusion of the tournament, please allow some time to update all the winning and participating accounts. It should go without saying but I'll reiterate that this tournament will be moderated and any players suspect of breaking the rules by botting or exploiting the 2v2 link feature to earn quick wins will be investigated and have their score reset to 0 if they are found to have violated the rules. Play safe, play fair, and duel on. Balance Changes Some of last weeks balance changed greatly overtuned Tech Mages. The following changes have been scaled back to their pre-update levels. Tech Mage NanoTech Shield: 10% damage reduction max Battery Backup: 5 turn cool down Plasma Bolt: 15% defenses ignored! Other Changes Over the next few weeks we'll be upgrading many of EpicDuel's oldest and most common animations to a new standard of dynamism and brutality. Some of these haven't been changed in over 10 years and Acatriel was up to the task of revamping then for a new generation of EpicDuelists.
